About Board Leapfrog
Board Leapfrog is a social enterprise based in Nova Scotia (formerly known as Better Boards!LIVE). Our mission is to design and deliver exceptional quality, affordable training for Canada's non-profit director community.
Social enterprises are a unique form of social purpose organization that uses private sector resources to subsidize the cost of volunteer participation. Board Leapfrog has a strong commitment to making a positive social contribution.
We choose to promote social good through our commitment to providing good quality education to nonprofit directors and the organizations they serve.
Mission
Operating as a social enterprise, the core mission of Board Leapfrog is to improve governance effectiveness in the non-profit sector across Canada, by providing exceptional director training, at an affordable rate.
We do this by partnering with industry professionals, partnerships with the private sector and government at all levels.
Who We Are
Board Leapfrog is a social enterprise operated by Cosgrove & Co., the Halifax-based governance consulting firm.
Cosgrove & Co. has invested heavily in creating the program, donating free-of-charge facilitation time, and donates the administrative effort to operate the Board Leapfrog program and coordinate its faculty and administration.
We are lifelong management consultants, former educators, and experienced nonprofit board executives. We also partner with community leaders, and professionals that serve non-profit organizations, such as accountants and lawyers.
Good governance is our passion and we are committed to supporting volunteer directors in serving with distinction, and supporting them in their journey of directorship.
