Board Leapfrog® is operated by Cosgrove & Co. Strategy Consulting Ltd. ("we", "us", "our"), and we respect your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use our website and register for our programs, why we collect it, and how we handle it. It follows Canadian privacy law, including the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). 

 

What we collect. 

When you register for a program, we collect the information you provide — typically your name, email address, organization and role, and the account details you set up. We also keep a record of the programs you register for and, where relevant, your progress through online modules. If you attend a live event, we may collect what we need to host you well, such as an accessibility or dietary requirement you share with us. When you contact us, we collect your message and the details you include. And when you use the site, we collect basic technical information automatically, such as the pages you view and the device and browser you use. 

 

Payment information. 

Payments are processed by Stripe, our payment processor. Stripe collects and handles your card details directly — we never see or store your full card number. We receive only what we need to confirm your registration, such as your name and confirmation that payment succeeded. 

 

The platforms we use. 

Our website and courses run on Thinkific, a learning platform, which stores your registration and account information and hosts the learning content. Thinkific is a Canadian company. Payments run through Stripe, as described above. Both are independent service providers with their own privacy practices, and by registering you're also subject to those practices. 

 

Why we collect it. 

We use your information to register you, process your payment and issue receipts, deliver the program and give you access to materials, communicate with you about your registration, and answer your questions. We use the technical information to understand how the site is used so we can improve it. With your consent, we may also send you occasional updates about Board Leapfrog® programs and events — you can unsubscribe at any time. We don't sell your information. 

 

Cookies and analytics. 

We use standard web analytics (such as Google Analytics) and the analytics built into Thinkific to understand how our site and courses are used. These rely on cookies, which you can control through your browser settings. 

 

How we use technology, including AI. 

From time to time we may use automated or AI-assisted tools to help us organize or analyze information — for example, to summarize program feedback. When we do, a person reviews the results, we don't use your information to train public or third-party AI models, and we don't make decisions that significantly affect you by automated means alone. 

 

Who we share it with. 

We share your information only with the service providers who help us run our programs — such as Thinkific, Stripe, our email and analytics providers — and only to the extent they need it. Some of these providers, including Stripe, may process or store information outside Canada, such as in the United States or Europe, where privacy laws differ from ours. We don't otherwise share your information, except where the law requires it. 

 

How we protect it. 

We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information against loss, misuse, and unauthorized access, and we rely on the security of the established platforms we use. No method of transmitting information over the internet is completely secure. 

 

How long we keep it. 

We keep your information as long as we need it to deliver our programs and meet our business and legal obligations — for example, keeping records of registrations and payments for the period the law requires — and then we dispose of it securely. 

 

Your choices. 

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, unsubscribe from our updates, or ask us a privacy question. Just email us at info@boardleapfrog.ca and we'll help. 

 

Children. 

Board Leapfrog® is intended for adults — directors, senior leaders, and volunteers — and isn't directed at children. We don't knowingly collect information from children. 

 

Other sites we link to. 

Our site may link to other services. Those services have their own privacy practices, and this policy doesn't cover them. 

 

Changes. 

We may update this policy from time to time. The version posted here, with its date, is the one that applies.
