Terms of Use

Welcome to Board Leapfrog®. This website and our training programs are owned and operated by Cosgrove & Co. Strategy Consulting Ltd. ("we", "us", "our"). By using this website,  registering for a Board Leapfrog® program, or participating in one of our online communities or chat function, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you don't agree with them, please don't enrol or use this site. We update these terms from time to time, and the version posted here is the one that applies.

About this site and our programs.

Board Leapfrog® is a suite of governance learning products created and owned by Cosgrove & Co. It includes our open-registration training program for volunteer directors and senior leaders, online learning modules, branded webinars, live events, community of practice and Certified Facilitator network and training programs. This website tells you about these offerings and lets you register. Most of the site is simply information; the part where you enrol and pay is handled through the platforms described below.

This is education, not advice.

Board Leapfrog® teaches general governance good practice. It is not legal, financial, or professional advice for your particular board or situation, and taking part in a program doesn't create an advisory relationship with us. If you need advice specific to your organization, that's separate consulting work under a written agreement.

Registering for a program.

When you register, please give us accurate information and keep your account details secure — you're responsible for activity under your account. Registration and payment are handled by Thinkific (our learning platform) and Stripe (our payment processor). When you register, you're also agreeing to their terms of service. Your payment card details are handled by Stripe, not by us — we never see or store your full card number.

Fees, cancellations and refunds.

In-Person Training Events

As a social enterprise, Board Leapfrog® is committed to delivering high-quality and affordable events for non-profit organizations and charities. In-person training events are costly to set up and run. Many costs cannot be recovered if a participant cancels, which impacts our ability to plan and deliver affordable programs in future.

The fee for each in-person program, and any applicable taxes, are shown before you complete your registration.

If you need to cancel:

  • You will receive a full refund when you let us know 7 days or more before the session;

  • You will receive a 50% refund and 50% credit toward a future event, if you cancel more than 48 hours before.

  • If you no-show or cancel within 48 hours, unfortunately we can’t offer any refund for last minute cancellations or no-shows.

  • Refunds are made to the original form of payment only.

  • You can always transfer your registration to a future session, or to another person at any time to avoid cancelling.

And, if we have to reschedule or cancel a session, we'll let you know as soon as we can and give you the choice of a transfer or a full refund.

Your access to our materials.

When you register, we give you a personal, limited licence to use the learning content for your own development — including workshop materials, activities, agendas, handbooks, online modules, and webinar content. Please don't copy, record, share, resell, or redistribute any of it.

All of it remains ours.

Getting the most from our sessions.

Board Leapfrog® works best when everyone takes part respectfully, both in the room and in any online discussion features. We may remove a participant who is disruptive or misuses the platform, and no refund is given when someone is removed for those reasons.

Intellectual property and trademarks.

Board Leapfrog® is a registered trademark of Cosgrove & Co. Strategy Consulting Ltd. The entire Board Leapfrog® suite is our property — including the training concept and framework, all course materials, activities, agendas, and learning content, our online learning modules, branded webinars, live-event content, and community-of-practice materials. Board HealthScore™ is also our trademark. None of these may be used, reproduced, or delivered by anyone else without our written permission. The general content of this website — text, graphics, and layout — is likewise ours and protected by law.
